Who we are

In 2017, Paigelynn Trotter began offering goat and sheep grazing services in collaboration with other livestock owners. Five years later, the business evolved into a family run outfit named Coastal Land and Livestock.

Now, the Coastal team of women, dogs and a herd of cashmere goats migrates between Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, offering adaptive grazing services based o n the lands seasonal vegetation needs.

The Coastal team focuses on learning how to best apply low-stress livestock handling principles to all their work with small ruminants. We hope to be advocates for this style of handling and support the expansion of safe and humane stockmanship education.

We are beyond grateful to the dozens of people who have pushed and supported us in getting off the ground with sharing of resources, access to opportunities, funding, advice, business and beyond. It is incredible what the livestock community is willing to do for one another and we look forward to finding ways to support the industry and pay it forward as we continue to grow into these big boots.

Above all else, we thank the many dogs that give this work everything they have. I take my responsibility to you seriously and will always look up to you in this work.
